Theme:  Environment and Global Governance: the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights at the post-Rio+20

Lecturer: Prof. Padre José Roque Junges
Professor of Bioethics in the undergraduate courses of the health area from Unisinos. Researcher and professor in the Post-Graduate program in public health of Unisinos and in Bioethics of the UnB. He researches the interfaces between bioethics, public health and environment.

Summary: To clarify the meaning of environmental protection and global governance, showing their interfaces and interdependencies. To show how environmental protection cannot exist without global governance and environmental justice. To explain how these relationships are present in the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights and in the Declaration Rio+20 – the future we want, showing the approximations, advances and differences between the two documents. To point out the ethical global challenges that environmental protection will imply for the future.
