500 years of Utopia and the Need for Utopia in the 21st Century is the subject of the event organized by the Center for Studies of the Future from the University of Brasilia (n-Futuros/UnB) on may 17th at 2:30 pm, in the Auditorium of the Deanery, UnB. United Kingdom’s Ambassador in Brazil, Alexander Ellis, and the Director of the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC/Itamaraty) Ambassador João Almino, will participate as lectures. After the lectures, there will be discussion with the audience.

The event is inspired by the work Utopia of Thomas Morus (or Thomas More). In Utopia, published in 1516, Morus describes an imaginary Island Kingdom where a society lives in an ideal (fair) way, which can be the opposite of Morus contemporary Europe of a satire of this same society.
