Brazilian Society of Bioethics launches book on Bioethics and Public Health

livro bioetica e saude publicaFrom the thoughts at the XI Brazilian Congress of Bioethics, held in 2015, in Curitiba, researchers have been invited to write for the book Bioethics and Public Health, organized by the President of the Brazilian Society of Bioethics (SBB), Regina Parizi, and researcher of PUC Paraná, Caroline Rosaneli.

With the central theme Bioethics and Inequality, the meeting discussed inequality in the economic and social fields in Brazil and in the world. The Coordinator of the Center for Bioethics and Diplomacy Studies in Health (Nethis/Fiocruz Brasília), José Paranaguá de Santana, one of the 29 invited authors, published the article “Access to Health in an unequal world“, which criticizes the lack of thoughts on the concept of health and on the world development models (and of each country) responsible for the production and reproduction of inequalities.

The publication brings together 14 articles relating to specific themes such as inequality neglected diseases, the Family Health Strategy, epidemiological surveillance, human organs for sale, food and nutritional sovereignty, among others.
