Alejandra Carrillo Roa

Magna Cum Laude Economist (2003) and Master ́s degree in Social Security (2009) by the Central University of Venezuela. Currently a researcher at NETHIS working mainly in the areas of South-South Cooperation and Health Diplomacy. Master ́s Degree in Global Health and Health Diplomacy from ENSP/FIOCRUZ. In 2008, worked as a research assistant for the School of Public Health at Yale University (USA). For four years acted as Chief Economist of the Research, Economic and Financial Advisory Office at the National Assembly of Venezuela.

Aline Albuquerque Sant’Anna de Oliveira

Graduated in law at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), specialist at the Unesco Chair of Bioethics from the University of Brasilia (UnB), master in Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and PhD in Health Sciences, Bioethics concentration area, at UnB and University of Zurich with a PhD scholarship from Capes. Postdoc in Human Rights. Lawyer of the Union at the Secretariat of Human Rights of the Presidency of the Republic. Counsellor of the National Health Council. Member of the Scientific Council of the Brazilian Society of Bioethics. Carlos Henrique A. Paiva

Felix Rigoli

Bachelor’s degree in Medicine-Universidad de la Republica Uruguay (1978) and a Master ́s degree in Administration de Santé-Université de Montréal (2003). Experience in the area of Public Health, with emphasis on International Health. Working for more than 13 years as a consultant of the Pan American Health Organization with cooperation in health systems. He was been Director General of the main health services complex of Uruguay and Director of the public network on Primary Health Attention in the city of Montevideo, as well as a consultant for the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank and the International Center of Research for Development (CIID, Canada), in the following countries: Argentina, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Paraguay. Played regional consultant functions for Latin America and the Caribbean from the regional headquarters in Washington from 2001 to 2009 in the areas of health systems and human resources. Since 2009 as Manager in the area of Health Systems in the Office of the Pan American Organization in Brazil with expertise in the areas of Health Services, Medicines, Research and Technology and Human Resources.

Fernando Antônio Pires Alves

Graduated in History from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1983), Master´s degree in History of Science and Health (2005) and PhD in Science at Oswaldo Cruz Foundation – Fiocruz (2011), area of concentration in History of Science and Health, by the Post-graduate program of the Casa de Oswaldo Cruz. He carries out his activities in the Casa de Oswaldo Cruz – Fiocruz, at the History and Health Observatory, workstation of the Observatory of Human Resources in Health Network – ObservaRH/Sgtes-MH/Paho. He is professor of the specialization course of Scientific and Technological Information in Health, at the Institute of Scientific and Technological Communication and Information in Health from Fiocruz; and at the professional master’s in Global Health and Health Diplomacy at the National School of Public Health. He has experience in the areas of Historical Documentation in Health and S&T; in the History of Health, with emphasis on the History of Scientific and Technical Information in Health; Education and Health Work; and International Cooperation in Health. In Nethis, he works with the content of the distance education course International Development Cooperation: Specificities of the Health area.

José Agenor Álvares

Biochemist at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais with expertise in Public Healthat the School of Health of Minas Gerais; in Public Administration at Fundação Getúlio Vargas and in Social Planning at CEPAL/CENDEC. Worked on the Integrated Health Project from Northern Minas-Montes Claros Project. Health specialist from the Ministry of Health where he coordinated the Program of Interiorization of Health and Sanitation Actions (PIASS), also Secretary of Planning and Deputy General Secretary. National Consultant of the Pan American Health Organization (Paho) and President of the Ezequiel Dias Foundation in Minas Gerais. Coordination of the Northeast Project from the Ministry of Health. In recent years, Manager of Decentralization at the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), Executive Secretary of the Ministry of health, Ministry of Health and Director of Anvisa. Currently advisor at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation in Brasília.

Julio Manuel Suárez Jiménez

Doctor. Specialist in Psychiatry. Master´s degree in Public Health at the School of Public Health of the Upper Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana, Cuba. PhD in Medicine at the University of Havana, Cuba. Post-graduate degree in Epidemiology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, United States of America, and in Health Management for the Andalusian School of Public Health, in Granada, Spain. He joined the United Nations System in 1988. He worked as an employee of Paho/WHO in Cuba, Ecuador, Brazil, Mexico and Chile, as a consultant in charge of the Cooperation in Health Systems and Services. Retired from WHO in November 2012. He has articles published at Paho and at the Cuban Public Health Magazine. As a consultant of Paho he has integrated editorial teams of publications in Cuba, Ecuador, Brazil, Mexico and Chile. Reviewer of the Pan American Public Health Journal. He had teaching activities in post-graduate programs of Ensp/Fiocruz, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; of FLACSO, in Santiago, Chile; and at the Government School of Public Health of Montevideo, Uruguay. He also collaborated in programs of several universities and institutions of Mexico, Chile and Brazil: USP, UFRJ, UERJ.  

Roberto Passos Nogueira

Doctor, Master ́s degree (1977) and Phd (1999) at the University of the State ofde Janeiro. Paho/WHO consultant in Brazil (1980-86) and Washington (1987-88). Researcher and planning specialist of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (1989-2007). General Coordinator of Human Resources Policy of the Ministry of Health (1996-97). Researcher at IPEA since 1998. Associate researcher of the ObservaRH/NESP/UnB since 1999. Main areas of research include: human resources in health, historical and philosophical aspects of health and medical practice, health conditions in Brazil and internationally.
